so much depends on interpretation

After much experimentation, I finally understand. Much gratitude to Robin, and to artist Laurie Frick by extension. I can’t imagine how many people must have chronicled their difficulties setting up their sites on their blogs. I am now one of them.

On to more interesting things. Had a lovely day yesterday with an old friend from art school. It was such a pleasure to talk art and life. I visited the Charles H Scott Gallery and experienced the work of Vancouver artist Mina Totino. I appreciated the subtle colour changes and the sense of depth in her abstract paintings. They were an unexpected surprise and I am curious about her other work.

This was followed by a trip to Collage Collage on Kingsway at 15th, a fantastic art space and  store run by artist Erin Boniferro. Erin has managed to bring together some of the most aesthetically exciting and child-and-adult friendly artwork and books to inspire novice and experienced artists alike. She also stocks high quality Stockmar beeswax crayons, Lyra pencil crayons and Mercurius notebooks. Waldorf parents on the Vancouver side of the bridge take note! Her space is well worth a visit simply for the collection of unique art pieces she has for sale.

I began another thread drawing upon returning home. They will be posted as soon as I can charge my camera.

“That which we walk away from always shines brighter.”

  • Field trip! ( I don’t know if Pat carries the books, so it’s good for me to know about sources, thanks!)
